Insightful
I recently attended the Home-going services for a 15 year who committed suicide. I felt the need to make sense of it all. Surely God (not mine) would not send a child who clearly had some life struggles to hell for bringing to an end her season. Not one of his most gifted, beautiful and well loved creations.
Here's what I know about God, he loves......period. There was a vindictive God who punished many for their acts, but it was also out of love, to show the enemies of those who followed him, his power. It was also to show those who knew him, that he was still God and still all powerful. So when he created this beautiful young lady and used her parents as a vessel through which he sent her, because I believe our lives are predestined, I could see how God could take offense to her ending her life.
Then I thought, what if that was Gods plan. She had a beautiful singing voice, actively participated in church, seemed to have been a good student academically, I believe she was a member of cheerleading and in the school choir. At church she was a praise dancer, was in the youth choir and an active participant in the youth ministry. To hear her father speak of her and other adults in her life speak of her, she was well loved. So I wondered why. That is until her pastor said, “why not”?
I thought about this for days here’s what the spirit within me said;
“as you recap everything you observed; did you notice all the youth that were present, all the adults present (some of which haven’t been in a church since the last time someone got married or died). Did you notice how the school jumped into action and supported the students and how it seemed to bring to their consciousness the fact that one thing, prior to the event, they viewed as almost an impossible occurrence was in fact, possible."
"Then look at Steven. Look at the youth who got involved, paid attention, the staff that stopped and took a hard look at the job they do daily and said I need to do more. Look at all the youth marching, supporting, paying attention. Ponder this; what if these uniquely talented and intelligent well loved youth, were actually God‘s angels used to reach a specific generation or population. Who have completed their quest but had to exit in a way so dynamic, to get the attention of those they were charged to reach. Imagine the lives that were transformed as a result of these short lives that abruptly ended.”
Every life has a reason and a season and once that season has ended we take with it the beauty and the experience as we go forward into the next.
Hurt, pain and sorry came to pass but life's lessons are meant to reshape who we are and how we behave. open your mind to change
