Snow is melting, finally
The wind no longer howling
The cold no longer snappy with chill
But what about my grass?
The snow melts into ponds of water
Slowly absorbed by the dirt, evaporating by the sun’s rays
Ever so slowly
But what about my grass?
The creatures that hide when the snow was heaviest
Searching for some form of cover
From the harsh winds brisk snappy cold, 2 ft of snow
2 days later 4 inches
3 days later 3 ft negative temperatures
Below freezing windchill of -12  and 14
But what about my grass........
The green patches of Earth hidden beneath
Mother nature is bipolar, polar vortex
What about my grass? Formally so beautiful and green.
The promise of newness being spread across the earth.
The sweet smells when freshly cut.
The sweet ....fresh .....smell
But what about my grass?
Patches of dirt sprouting thin green blades
But then thick dark beautiful green blades
Perfect for walking through barefoot or just for spreading a
blanket on
Sitting in the midst of, laying on my back in
Sitting in the midst of with a warm glass of cider, cold
glass of water, strong glass of Jack
Looking up at the beautiful warm sun
Feelings of happiness
Ummm, my grass?
Weeds trying to make their way through
Trying to hang out with the flowers
Tomatoes planted, cucumbers sprouting
But what about my damn grass?
