A Friends Grief

A Poem for a friend who lost a loved one……..

I wanted to say something, but I didn’t have the words to say

I wanted to say I’m sorry your loved one is gone, but what is that to say?

I wanted to say God is going to wipe every one of your tears away,

But even so, those tears must flow…so let them and know they are not here to stay

For God WILL wipe EVERY ONE of your tears away!

I wanted to say your loved one is in pain no more and in a better place

But instead, I will say, with each passing day the pain will get easier to bare and one day in paradise you will again see his face

I wanted to say, I wish I could take on some of your pain and lighten your load even if just for a little while

But God created you, a strong woman in his own image and as time passes, with every situation you are going through, the load will get lighter and bigger and brighter will be your smile

These were the words I wanted to say to you. But I stumbled and they would not flow

Maybe then wasn’t the time for them so I held them and am now finally letting them go

So I hope these words will comfort you and as your pain and troubles began to cease

You will wake up one day with no troubles your way and find your world filled with peace
