Today's thought has to do with my hometown of Chicago..
I recently heard that the National Guards may have to come to Chicago to prevent some of the killings
People are asking the Mayor what is his plan, they are asking the police what are they doing here is the problem I have with this..
We cannot continue to blame the past for our present, we cannot continue with the anti-snitching way of thinking and when the situation hits home now they would like something to be done
We have to take responsibility of our own situations
I have had people complaining about what they can't do or don't have the resources to do when they never leave their neighborhood or
And this is my favorite
When someone attempts to tell them how to do or where to go
They either don't listen or have that "I don't need nobody to tell me how to do....." Mentality
So here is my take... parents if there is something you don't know, ask someone
If you need help with your children, behaviorally, emotionally academically...ask for help. Stop with the I don't want to seem like a bad parent thinking
If you need help, seek it
Be a role model if you don't have your diploma..go get it
If you don't have a job..go get one stop hustling the system for pennies when you can make dollars
Believe in your ability to be productive
We forfeit blessings due to pride and fear
Learn to help yourself
Stop blaming others for what you do not have
Pray for guidance, look for opportunities,
Advocate for yourself
You buildup neighborhoods by building up its people
Bring back neighborhood watch..
Gardens can't survive with a bunch of weeds so get them out
